Thanks for the review, guys! I agree with the criticisms regarding abandoning characters, my wife wants to see more of the adventures of the guys in the first issue too.
Dude, its what we do! Let us know when the next one comes out. I have a feeling popular demand will force you to return to certain characters from the first ish.
Keep it up, man … er.. robot.

PS sorry we lost a lot of audio and that was our second time through, so our enthusiasm was waning a bit.
Earth 2, Day 2. The only advantage of being so far behind is I have more to listen to now. Great episode.
Going to have to side with Wheels on this one and throw my support behind the people that dress up like super-heros. Years ago, I had the good fortune to interact via internet with at least one of the people that had a little time in the movie and they were good hearted (from what I could tell). Part of the problem is the film had to sort of simplify the story because that is one diverse group to say it mildly. Practically the definition of non-conforming to any standard. Some of the people only do civil acts that are non-confrontational, like giving aid to homeless people. One thing they did not feature is that some of them also go to hospitals to interact with children. They also have some people that focus only on the vigilante aspects. Some that are just in it to dress up, some that are a mix, etc, etc, etc. Some of them don’t like the others based on the actions they do, etc. I think everyone can recognize the good acts that are done. I personally walk by plenty of homeless people and should probably do more but I don’t.
On the vigilante front, I wish they could have interviewed the most famous, Phoenix Jones. He seems like an interesting dude. While I side with Wheels, I can appreciate Slurmo sticking up for individual rights and not being down with violence. Although two points to be made.
First, I don’t think vigilante actions are exactly a problem that is sweeping the nation. I imagine it is a fractional percentage and most violence has other root causes.
Second, while I can appreciate that Slurmo did not like the fact that the “heroes” were going out with violence on their mind and in their hearts, I think the analogy to the gay bashers is flawed in two fundamental aspects. Taking the more serious one first, in our scenario, we have Slurmo the hero/gay basher and the third party. The analogy fails in part because of the intent of the third party. In the hero scenario the intent of the third party is to do harm. In the gay bash scenario the intent of the third party is to have sex with slurmo. Two very different motivations with one being a criminal action and the other being consensual and presumably desired (insert cheap joke here about having sex with Slurmo). The other distinction is in the actions of Slurmo. In the gay bash scenario, he is affirmatively encouraging the actions of the third party by flirting with them. In the hero scenario, he is not saying, “please assault me.” This is more subtle as Bob can counter that the third party was asking for it, and should have dressed/acted in that way. Still not a great defense. This ties more into the idea of entrapment. The great Marshal Law original limited series had two characters discussing these issues when there was a killer targeting people who dressed like one of the characters. Great comic there. Perhaps the best defense to my scenarios would be to say that despite the intents and actions of all parties, violence is not an acceptable resolution. We live in a society of rules and as a society we have assigned the rights of enforcing the laws to neutral, third party entites (police).
I like when the episodes get me fired up.
Elephantmen is a great book. Last year started reading it in hardcover. Starkings makes the rounds to the local cons. Very nice guy.
I checked out the jerks in space website. I love the title. Pretty cool stuff.
I liked hearing the process talk at the end. If you like comics, you probably are at least curious as to how they were made. Frankenstein is the best of the new DC 52 IMHO.
Wasn’t I only going to do short posts? Keep up the great work.
